FLORENCE – In the impressive setting of the Santa Croce church, an important agreement between the Sanpellegrino Group and the Region of Tuscany has been signed, stating that Acqua Panna will bear the Tuscan Taste logo on its label, a logo created by the Region for outstanding products that are 100% Tuscan.
TUSCANY IN THE WORLD – “Acqua Panna is a symbol of the power of nature from the heart of the Tuscan Apennines, a unique aquifer and a long history of culture, passion and love of the environment”, said Stefano Agostini, President and CEO of the Sanpellegrino Group. “Which is why we’re honoured to distribute Acqua Panna in Italy and around the world. From today it will take with it an even stronger message that emphasises the strong link between this mineral water and its homeland.”
TUSCAN TRADITION – “The Region of Tuscany created the Tuscan Taste logo for outstanding products that are 100% Tuscan. Before today, this opportunity had only been granted to a few selected wine producers”, stated Enrico Rossi, President of the Region of Tuscany. “But Acqua Panna has strong links with our region and it is without a doubt an outstanding product, one that’s able to represent Tuscany both in Italy and abroad. Our plan for the future is to use this quality label for all of the outstanding products of Tuscany in the food and beverage industry.”
THE VALUE OF ACQUA PANNA – A study carried out by the Althesys Institute commissioned by the Sanpellegrino Group, found that in 2012 Tuscany generated €62 million, almost twice Sanpellegrino’s turnover in the region (€119 million). This figure includes the added value generated by the Group’s suppliers (farmers, industry and services), by Sanpellegrino itself, the logistics system and distribution channels.
